FINRA issues new guidelines for Social Networking

FINRA, the Financial Regulatory Authority, recently issued new guidelines concerning the use of Social Networking sites by securities firms and brokers. This new guideline, published in Regulatory Notice 10-06 covers aspects of how brokers can use Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other social networking sites.

These guidelines impose additional record keeping requirements, and also clarify suitability, training, and monitoring requirements for online activities.
